Ahhhhh! Cap'n Halal!

Kill the girl!

Can't do that...

...Watch out behind you!

I bent down just in time, the sword swooshed right over my lowered head. I whirled around, my sword at the ready. My arm seemed to have a mind of it's own. It went toward the cap'n's head, then I managed to pull it back. Again, I did the same weird blocky mouvements. Finally, I yanked at my sword so hard that I conked myself in the head and fell over, the voice dying away...

AAAAH...

I just layed on the ground for a bit, regaining the use of my brain and all the rest. I also wondered how my brain would be, after me passing out twice, having some bilgewater sent into it, and then me smashing my head. And, to top it all off, I'm in some other world that reminds me too much of mine. Except all this snow. I barely remember the snow.

"Blimey, cap'n! It's colder 'n a witch's tit out here!"

I propped myself up on my elbows and smiled up at the cap'n and... the other guy with the rapier.

"Ahoy there, me buckos. I've used me deadlights, cap'n Halal. I know it's you. D'you think we could get out of this place, though? It's full of addled lubbers, I swear. I haven't spliced the mainbrace, if that's what yer thinking. My brain has just sort of been messed with."

I stood up and suddenly felt very dizzy, and fell right back on me south end. If I had had too much rum, I prob'ly woulda felt the same way.

[HJ : Sérieux, merci Isabella Very Happy! Tu viens de m'aider en tas avec l'Histoire. Ayken est à la tête des scientifiques et puis toi, tu viens de nous faire découvrir l'organisation ! THANKS A BUNCH!]

Buckos? That's how she called me? Piratey talk I suppose. It was a weird situation. It seemed like something was taking over her body. She seemed to be struggling to make her body move. More the opposite actually, she was struggling not to make it move...So, she's Bella and was in Tara's crew...Interesting. I caught the girl before she crashed on the ground.

-I suppose this has been quite filled with emotions...So, who is she exactly, Tara?

Taranis s'avanca pour faire les presentations.

-Ed, this is Bella, she was part of my crew, and careful, she's a good fighter. Dunno what's she doin' here though...probably passed throught time like me or something like that. Anyway, looks like the spell that takes control of her is starting to fade. Don't worry, when she is herslef, she can be a quite nice person...for a pirate, but now she just wants to kill me, so let's just be on the safe side and wait a few minutes before releasing her.

Puis, elle s'adressa a Isabella.

-Bella, this lad here is Ed. He can do magic an' knows of a science callled alchemy. He lives here, in the futur and he used to have quite a social status. Quite a nice fellow, just not too right in the head since his brother die.

Puis, elle baissa un peu le ton.

-AND he gets seasick at the sight of blood...strange, eh?

Puis elle reprit de ton normal.

-Think ye can release her now Ed, looks like the spell wore off.

[Ummm, no problem?]

Strange indeed.

"The future, eh? Arrr, sink me! I don't suppose there're any pirates in the future? Ah well... we were a dyin' breed when the New World was discovered."

I turned to the guy named Ed, who had stopped me fall, and held out my hand.

"The name's Isabella White, actually, from jolly ol' England. Originally. But you can just call me Bella for short. So, I guess you're some sort of wizard or something, since you can do magic? I've met quite a few wizards since I arrived in the future. None of them were very friendly, though. 'Cos, you know, they screwed with me brain. But since the skipper seems to trust you enough, I suppose you can't be that bad."

I felt much more solid on my feet, now. Although, I was still pretty nervous to be in the future. Looks like I talk more than a parrot when I'm nervous.

-You do know that I was holding her so she wouldn't crash on the ground, do you? And what does that mean "not right in the head"...? Well, anyway, I'm pleased to meet you, Isabella White. I am Edward Alexander Blake, from England as well, although it isn't the England you knew in your time. You might believe alchemy as magic, but it isn't actually. So, no, I am no wizard. I cannot turn anyone into a frog with a magic spell. Although, I am very interested in the others you are talking about. Would you be able to tell us exactly what happened, from what you know at least...?

The taxi driver let Ishtar not far from a hotel. She didn't go in rigth away. She watch the from of the edifice. It was so huge, she never saw something like that. Even in her past life. The most gigantic thing she saw, was the pyramid. She heard voices not far. There was a guy and two girls. Bah, not interresting....Maybe, she can ask them in what town we where, because Ishtar just know that she is in England. She walk toward them.

"What happened...? Well, first, I disappeared through this vortex thing, which must have brought me to this time. I arrived in the Carribeans, not that I believed the moron who told me. Then some wizards kidnapped me and stunned me 'til I was out like a light. Afterwards, I woke up in a big white room with other wizards around me, all dressed in white and hiding their faces. They had some sort of plan... what was it again?... Oh yeah! They put some potion in me blood that changed my thoughts so that I would kill everything from the past, not that I knew what that was supposed to mean. And then, well, I was lead to you two and that's that. Oh wait, I remember one of them saying something about how I was doing their job... It's not that important, really."

I cocked my head to the side, realizing that my adventure probably wasn't that interesting. But then, why did that lad ask? Just before I could ask him, the sound of approaching footsteps put all my senses in alert.

"Avast ye, matey," I said to the approaching figure. "Friend or foe?"

-Wow Bella....sounds like what happened to me...exept that those thick-headed land-lubbers didn't try to mess with me brain.

Puis, elle vit quelqu'un s'approcher.

Oh, not him again...

Mais cette fois, c'etait une jeune femme qu'elle ne conaissait pas [logique]. En entendant son accent qui etait pire que le sien, Taranis essaya de parler a l'inconnue dans dautres langues.

-Vous parlez un peu d'espagnol?

A young lady approached as Bella was talking. She seemed rather lost here, a bit like Bella. Plus, she also had an accent, even if it was very different from Tara, or Bella. When Taranis asked if the girl was speaking Arabic, the accent came back to my head and made me think. It did seem like her accent was close to arabic, but not quite arabic.

-Miss, you are in England. London, precisely.

Raphael was siting on a rooftop for some time now... he had overheard quite a lot more than he would've wanted normally. When he heard Tara's voice asking if some lady spoke other languages he smiled. the poor Girl probably didn't understand a word because the other new Gal in the group spoke in quite the slang, Raph had to admit. He didn't even get up too look at the new figure... he wasn't quite sure Tara was going to like to see the likes of him anytime soon and he preferred not to check on the fact. O.K. So he would've been on a better footstool with her if she wasn't paranoid... So he actually had been spying on Ed... and For good reasons too, but Tara had absolutely no reason to dislike him... let alone despise him like she seemed to be doin' every time they saw one another. Raph looked up at the stars, something big was brewing and he felt uneasy about it... call it a REAL bad feeling. Without a sound he got his Match out of the hostler and started twirling it around out of pure boredom.

London!? I hadn't realized that I was in England. It didn't look anything like I remembered. Passing my gaze over the many houses, I felt homesickness wash over me for the first time in ten years. I wondered how my family had fared over the years. I then saw a silhouette on one of the rooftops. I squinted at the house, but I couldn't tell what was there. It was probably nothing. And anyways, I could just be hallucinating because of what the wizards did to me. Or maybe I was just paranoid.

Taranis ne s'attendait pas a recevoir une telle question. Elle regarda Edward pour qu'il reponde, car elle ne savait pas trop trop elle-meme. Son idee de "fun" etait probablement tres differente de celui des habitants de Londres.

[Raph's leaning against a chimney in the darkness... I didn't think about mentioning it cause at the moment I was thinking about Montreal with all the flat roofs...]
Raph didn't move much, actually, he didn't move at all would be more like it. He just sat there looking at the stars and listening to the group as they spoke. His brain was on off mode for now... he was comfortably numb. When Edward said there was not much to do at night he almost erupted in a torrent of laughter, but held back. Not much to do? You could go to a good club, most of them where still open if not in the middle of the action, and a lot of the good places to visit, where better at night when you where not disturbed by the crowd. Raph for one couldn't stand those. Then you had the casino who was still open and had shows all night, and if all that wasn't enough you could always go to a erotic dance bar of some kind... those where open from 9 pm to 8 or 9 am! Thought those where weird places for people coming from the past...

[Oh, peh. Like I knew that. And twirling a Match around doesn't count as moving because...?]

Big Ben? Big Ben!?!? Why should we go sightseeing? Shouldn't we be trying to find out what in the name of Davy Jones is going on? Shouldn't we be trying to find a way to go back home? Now is most definetely not the time for fun. I didn't say any of this, though. After all, Cap'n Halal probably has a better idea of what we could do than me. She's been here much longer. So I said,

"Big Ben? Doesn't sound like much fun to me. "

-Indeed. It's just a gorgeous clock of London. It's been standing there since so long ago, I think since the 18s. I don't remember the date well. Although, if you are in that type of things, there are always some bars still open at this time...or the casino, but I doubt you've got time and money to spend there.

I quite wished this lady would leave us, for I wanted to know more about this scientific experiment that had been done on Taranis and Isablla.

All of the sudden, the pieces became clearer. The accent I thought I had heard in her now made sense. She was from Egypt, in the time of the pharaos. The tone of her skin should have made me realize it.

-Oh, so you're an egyptian! That is incredible! That explains things well. But how is it that you are in London then?

-Actually, those two girls also come from another time.

Suddenly, I yawned. I was getting pretty tired. It was quite normal since it was getting on 4am. It was time to go to bed.

-I suggest we should all get to bed. There's a cottage I go to just outside London. It's not too far from here. We should call a taxi and get there, it'd better to sleep. I think I'd rather talk about all this tomorrow, since I am still quite shocked of this night. Are you coming with us, miss?

You probably wonder why I invited three girls I just met in my cottage. It would be quite normal to say : "What an imprudent move". Obviously, I was aware that I could be in trouble, but inside of me, I thought that as much as I wanted to achieve my goal, as much I needed help to succeed. Plus, those girls didn't know where to go and could easily be abused by men or women of my time. I guess it was a win-win situation.

-My name is Alexander. Call me as you wish. Let's go, I'll call a cab.

We went out of the alley and I called a taxi. All four of us drove down the streets until we reached the small roads outside of the city. We finally arrived at the cottage. We all got out and I paid the driver. I unlocked the door and we went in.

-Here we are. It's not really fancy, but it's quite cosy. You will like it here. I come here every night since 3 years. Make yourselves at home

I smile when he tell me his name. He doesn't know mine but he want me to come at his home? Is bizare. Anyway. I got in the yellow car and he drive to the guy house. When we arrive, I watch the area. It's a habit I have when I was in my capital, because when we are the general and the bodyguard of the pharaoh, we have to be extremely cautious. The guy name Ed, enter the house. I follow him inside. He said make yourself at home. Yeah, that is not very what is at my homeland but anyway. I watch everywhere around me. I really didn't know what to do.
